Politics dropped as you changed my life

I am a 28 year old college graduate woman who went into politics to change
the world.
I found it empty, shallow, self-serving, devoid of true conviction for anything
but “winning”
I called an older women who had been a long time positive influence to have

lunch and help me talk some things out.
When I finished, she reached into her tote bag and pulled out a copy of
Castaway Kid.
She said she felt led to give it to me after I called but didn't know why.
I have left politics, am working full time for an agency for at-risk kids. It is
grueling, difficult, few tangible success, but incredibly fulliling.
Castaway Kid changed my life, gave me a new mission.
